Dogecoins and Dillinger

I wanted to bring two things to everyone’s attention this morning. First, if you work heavily in the cloud and are using Markdown more and more you need to know about Dillinger. Dillinger.io is an online Markdown editor with live preview and integration with a number of cloud services including Dropbox, GitHub, and Google Drive. It also has a number of utilities like export the HTML, PDF, or Markdown file as well as giving you a word count (for those of you needing to hit a word count with your posts) and a Markdown cheat sheet for remembering those less often used commands.

I encourage you to check it out. Plus, it is entirely free. Head over to Dillinger to take a look.

Secondly, I wanted to talk about Dogecoins.

Dogecoin

For the past two days I’ve been talking about Crypto-currencies and their relevance to the future of the global economy. Bitcoins and Litecoins are nice to have because they currently possess a lot of value. But what started out as an homage to an internet meme has turned into a growing community around the Dogecoin cryptocurrency. There are now shops/stores that take Dogecoin as payment, several gambling establishments take Dogecoin as deposits. Even last night there was an online professional gaming competition that had its prizes in Dogecoin. And just yesterday, mainstream media outlets like Time magazine, Wall Street Journal, and others were mentioning and writing about Dogecoin in positive light.

Needless to say, if you are looking to learn more about crypto-currencies and Dogecoin, I encourage you to check out Dogecoin‘s homepage, come over to the Dogecoin Reddit Community, or if you want to start mining Dogecoins you should join me at Dogehouse.

One final thing. I’m giving away 200 Dogecoins on twitter. Simply put your twitter handle in the comments below and I’ll send you a random number of Dogecoins for free to get you started.
